In the final part of our series on the critical benefits of transitioning to Cloud Computing solutions in Turkey, prepared based on detailed research findings, we will examine the benefits in terms of increased business agility, mobility, quality control, and sustainability solution needs.
Remember, the solution is not local, it's in the cloud, with PortvMind!
I. Increasing Business Mobility Solution Needs:
The concepts of application support based on the Internet of Things (IoT), which has been translated into Turkish as "Nesnelerin İnterneti," are increasingly becoming part of our lives. From managing the heating and cooling of our homes to controlling kitchen appliances, from automation used in agriculture and industry to vehicle tracking, there are needs for the use and management of data we generate in almost every aspect imaginable, along with corresponding solutions. While perhaps not as necessary in the past, solutions addressing the needs of businesses, which have now become standardized and essential, are becoming obligatory investments, partly due to Industry 4.0 expectations. The increasing number of businesses seeking such solutions, along with the high time and cost required to respond to the demand, and the challenges in implementation, are leading to a growing trend towards cloud-based solutions that can be rented rather than setting up their own local solutions.
II. Mobility:
During the pandemic, every individual, organization, and business worldwide, even the most conservative ones, has realized the necessity of remote work and the ability to access systems from anywhere at any time. What was once considered a luxury has now become an essential requirement, as the new generation of technology, which initially served as a means of communication through telegrams and later faxes, has evolved into instant messaging standards and eventually video and audio meetings. Expanding mobility to all services and users, ensuring its security, and, most importantly, rapidly and seamlessly disseminating it, is much easier with cloud services. Nowadays, everyone from homemakers to businessmen and technical teams has turned to secure and sustainable cloud services, minimizing the time they spend on their tasks. Although this paradigm may lead to increased workload and some new sociological phenomena, the reality is that no professional manager can afford to ignore mobility solutions anymore.
III. Quality Control:
One of the clearly visible benefits of Cloud Technologies is its allowance for centralized control, making it conducive to result-oriented management and providing management conveniences. While the concept and level of quality can be debated, having the necessary environments and standards in place for control, and even ensuring the continuity of these standards, is not up for debate. Establishing a centralized system on a central structure allows remote offices to easily access their systems from there, thus facilitating quality control. Intervening in problems, easily disseminating standards by controlling a specific area in the center, and having more cost-effective security and operational costs are all factors that make ensuring the continuity of quality standards in Cloud structures easier.
IV. Sustainability:
When we discuss the topics of continuity and sustainability, which may seem similar in terms of expression but are different, we encounter two issues that support each other but still represent fundamentally distinct matters. Regardless of the perspective we take, the outcome being related to sustainability underscores the high significance of these two headings for us, and their considerable global benefits are undeniable.
Businesses evaluate their approach to IT based on its direct or indirect benefits to their operations. Even in sectors traditionally considered distant from technology, the significance of IT cannot be ignored. Information technology departments are becoming one of the most valuable sections within businesses, especially in technology-intensive industries. They are often positioned alongside critical departments such as sales and marketing, indicating their increasing importance. Governments also recognize the value of IT departments, often creating new strategies in this regard. Just as valuable things command high prices, they also require significant attention and entail considerable risks. This holds true for IT departments and managers, whose importance is on the rise. Businesses, especially those heavily reliant on specific individuals or single applications, are realizing the need to prepare for potential disruptions. The need for a constantly operational server room and the high costs associated with system downtime underscore the critical importance of IT infrastructure. Conversely, inefficient or costly investments made by businesses in an attempt to establish uninterrupted systems can be equally detrimental. Instead of relying on individuals, businesses are increasingly focusing on cloud-based solutions. By using cloud services, businesses can avoid unnecessary spending, reduce their carbon footprint, and minimize harm to the ecosystem. Just as residents in an apartment building share a common elevator rather than each having their own, businesses can adopt a similar approach to IT needs, ensuring security is maintained. Accessing and utilizing services based on a pay-as-you-go model has become remarkably straightforward. Consolidating scarce human resources through managed services in the cloud, akin to the shared elevator and server room analogy, allows businesses to save on resource utilization, contributing to sustainability.
